GIRL SENTRY WITH MALLET SEES MINISTRY MEN REMOVE FURNITURE FROM SQUAT FLATS
With women sentries on guard to scrutinise everybody entering or leaving, Ministry of Works men removed furniture from Fountain Court, nine storey blocks of flats in Westminster now taken over by squatters.
This building, held on lease by the Ministry of Works, is the latest big block of flats to be taken over without authority by home hungry people. It was occupied by 150 squatters who climbed spiked railings and walls in a commando-like operation when they found the main door locked.
Photo Shows: Men removing the Ministry of Works furniture from Fountain Court as women pickets sit on guard.
