'Miniature world' ring designs, Germany - Sep 2015

A designer has created a unique jewellery range that places a 'miniature world' inside a clear-ring.

German-designer Isabell Kiefhabe spends several hours carefully creating miniature designs, which are encased in a see-through ring.

Isabell said: "I really like to place ordinary objects, that generally nobody pays attention to, into jewels. In addition, I add materials like gold-leaf, silver or pearls to make the pieces eye-catching."

In the pictures, tiny objects, such as an origami bird, a swimming scene and a mermaid can be seen encased inside a clear-ring.

The intricate work can take up to several hours to make one design.

Sprite Europe commissioned a piece of interactive 3D artwork in July, 2012 to compliment their current campaign.

Streets Ahead: Amazing 3D Pavement Art

From Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles escaping from the sewer at London's Southbank to a Royal Wedding in Sweden this stunning 3D street art is probably the best on the planet.

Thanks to skilled British artists Joe Hill and Max Lowry pedestrians have had a whole host of dangers to negotiate as they go about their business.

For the past eight years the talented twosome have brought their 3D art skills to pavements all around the globe - with jaw-dropping results - raging waterfalls, a record-breaking crevasse and the legendary Loch Ness monster.

Since Max tragically passed away in 2010, Joe decided to continue their work, keeping the name 3D Joe and Max in Max's memory.

His latest work includes a giant beanstalk bursting through the pavement to celebrate the release of Jack The Giant Slayer, which opens in cinemas today (March 22), extending The Solaris Building in Singapore by four levels and building a futuristic city for Motorola in London and Barcelona.

Not only do these incredible chalk drawings look realistic by themselves - but when passers-by jump into the scene they take on a life of their own.

Press Officer for 3D Joe and Max, Lucy Pratt said: "We usually use chalk to 'map out' the picture and then use paint after, the illusion is created through a camera lens.

"Sometimes an intricately detailed large-scale drawing can take up to seven days to complete, sometimes longer depending on the weather.

"Our standard size is 6 meters x 3 meters and these take, on average three to four days."

Their eye-catching creations are often created for live events, marketing campaigns, music videos and TV comm...

    Peek-A-Bug
This damselfly thought it had cleverly hidden itself behind a blade of grass at a British lake - but it failed to realise its eyes could be seen poking out either side.

The bright blue bug concealed its two-inch-long body and transparent wings by clinging onto the grass with its black legs.

But photographer Tony Flashman spotted the common blue damselfly's piercing eyes as he crawled around meadows at Fordwich Lakes, near Canterbury, Kent.

He had arrived at the lake at 5am to try and find the flies before they became too active at sunrise.

Tony said: "This little fly thought it was being clever by hiding behind the grass in a game of hide and seek but he didn't do a very good job.

"I could see his eyes peeking out from either side and its legs wrapped around the grass.

"It needs to move from the thin long grass to the reeds, where it will have a bit more cover."

He added: "This fly behaved himself and allowed me to get a good photograph but I had to get there early. As soon as it warms up they start to move around too much."
