A troupe of humanoid robots have shown off their dancing skills — at a public stage show.
Chinese robotics company Unitree provided 16 of its H1 robots to show off their coordinated moves alongside human dancers at a Chinese New Year Spring Festival gala.
As well as dancing in sync they also pulled off the tricky feat of spinning handkerchiefs which they throw and catching.
It was a highlight of a folk dance called Yangge.
The H1 team performed live in front of an audience at a gala in Beijing.
A Unitree spokesperson said the performance was the world’s first large-scale, fully AI-driven and automated humanoid robot performance.
Whole-body AI motion control enabled the H1s to dance in sync with each other.
OPS: A Unitree robot, not the H1 but a smaller model, meeting some of the human dancers.

A new coin is set to hover at the top of must have lists for collectors - as it is the world’s first levitating legal tender.

It was commissioned by the national bank of African state Cameroon and from Poland’s national Mennica Polska mint.

The silver coin is called the UFO MP-1766 and the name was inspired by its likeness to a flying saucer and its ability to slowly rotate in the air like an alien spacecraft.

The number 1766 reflects the founding date of the Polish Mint as well as the coin’s denomination which is 1,766 Cameroonian francs which equates to around €2.70 euros.

Although legal tender, the value of this tiny wonder of engineering is considerably higher than its official denomination.

Just 510 units will be made and has a pre-order price of over $1,000 USD / €920 euros.

The coin will be available in the next few months.

Chiengora is a yarn or wool spun from dog hair. The word is a portmanteau of chien and angora. It is up to 80% warmer than wool and is not elastic. Often chiengora is blended with wool during the carding process. This blend has some give to it, which is preferable when knitting.
