November 2, 2017 - New York, New York, United States: New Yorkers gather in Tribeca for a candle light vigil for the victims of the October 31 terrorist attack by Sayfullo Habibullaevich Saipov, the Muslim man who drove a pickup truck into cyclists and runners along about 1 mile (1.6 km) of a bike path alongside West Street, near Chambers Street in Lower Manhattan. The vehicle-ramming attack killed eight people, including five Argentinians and one Belgian tourist, and injured eleven others. Upon exiting the vehicle, the driver appeared to be wielding two guns (later found to be a paintball gun and a pellet gun) and was subsequently shot in the abdomen by police, and then arrested. An ISIL flag and a document that read either "It will endure." or "Islamic State will endure forever." in Arabic were found in the truck.
