NEWS - New York: Partygänger von Feuerwehr aus Kamin befreit
    EXCLUSIVE:
August 6, 2016 - New York, New York, United States: FDNY firefighters dislodged a man stuck in the chimney of 17 Allen street approximately 10 feet below the roof. He was one of two intoxicated party-goers rescued after getting stuck when they tried to slide down a chimney on a Chinatown building roof. The pair was drinking with the party's host on the roof when they decided to head back to the party via the chimney at 7.30am. They dropped down only a few feet before they got stuck in the tiny space. The party’s host saw their plight from above and called 911 after 28-year-old Gregory Massuelle and 25-year-old Alexia Elodie got lodged in the tiny space. Elodie suffered some bruises, but refused medical attention. Massuelle, a French-speaking man who was wearing blue jeans with no shirt, was taken to New York-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital with minor injuries. Olympic Missiles To Be Installed On London Flats
Missile batteries will be placed on the roof of upmarket residential flats in London as part of planned defences for the upcoming Olympics.

The high-velocity-missiles will be placed on the flat roof of a converted former factory near to the Olympic stadium that is now home to upmarket flats.

The missiles, which travel three times faster than the speed of sound, are part of a network of defences that would be used in the event of an airborne attack on the Olympic venue.

They will be tested this week as part of the military's six- day trial of its ground-based air defence systems ahead of the Games

The building where the missiles will be installed forms part of a Grade II-listed gated redevelopment of the former Bryant and May match factory.

During the Olympics, security measures will also see typhoon jets and helicopters patrol the skies.

Meanwhile, a 23,000-strong force of security guards, including soldiers, will be on duty alongside 12,000 police officers.

    Made-In-Italy - Recreated In China
As a burgeoning middle class emerges in China there is an ever greater demand for European brands and lifestyles.

For many a trip to Paris, Rome or London still remains a distant and expensive dream, but now there is a home-grown solution.

Florentia Village, which opened in 2011, is an Italian themed luxury retail park in Wuqing, near Tianjin.

It boasts all the top label brands you would find on a shopping trip to Italy - as well as some of the country's most famous sights.

Eager shoppers can pop into Prada before marvelling at the Colosseum and admiring the gondolas on the Great Canal.

The complex is filled with colonnades, piazzas and bridges, while just beyond the walls the towering chimney of a municipal heating station looms.

For Florentia is built on an industrial development zone halfway between Beijing and Tianjin.

Despite its less than salubrious surroundings the sprawling 14-acre Little Italy has proven to be a great success.

It not only attracts visitors who have the means to shop there but also others who come to gawp at the over-the-top splendor.

For those who can afford the prices, Florentia's motto is "100pc Luxury Goods, 100pc Discount Heaven".

It is home to stores such as Versace, Armani, Prada as well as English classics such as Dunhill and Gieves and Hawkes.

    Diver Explores Gap Between Continents
He may appear to be exploring the crystal clear waters of a normal underwater canyon but this diver is actually swimming between two continents.

The gap between Europe and the United States is slowly widening as the two tectonic plates they sit upon move apart at the rate of an inch a year.

These spectacular underwater photographs show the vast gap between the American and Eurasia plates, as seen by a British scuba diver.

Alex Mustard, 36, dived 80 feet into the crevice between North America and Eurasia to reveal the stunning landscape.

The area - near Iceland - is riddled with faults, valleys, volcanoes and hot springs, caused by the plates pulling apart at about 1inch per year.

Alex snapped away as he and his dive partners swam through fresh water canyons Silfra, Nes and Nikulasargja, which are up to 200 feet deep.

He also took photographs of the Arnarnes Strytur chimney, which forms a cloudy plume as 80C water is ejected from the earth's crust and hits the cool 4C seawater.

Alex, from Southampton, Hants, said: "The photos show diving in the unique underwater world of Iceland which, like on land, is formed by the volcanic landscape of the country.

"Many people visit Iceland to see these features on land but they also continue underwater.

"For a scuba diver these are spectacular places to visit - being able to fly through the clear water and explore the fault lines in three dimensions.

"I have dived all around the world and this is almost certainly the clearest water I have ever been in.

"Many people have an experience of vertigo from the sheer walls and clear water".

    St Valentines Day .
St . Valentine's Day is with us all once more . Secret loves will find expression in flowery , colourful but anonymous cards . Bunches of flowers will be delivered to many pretty miss's home - with mysterious cards attached . Others , more bold will willingly sign their names , proud and sure of their reception . Still others ( the very brave ) will arrive , flowers in hand , at the sweetheart's door .
Such a brave one is Johnny - or as he is more familiarly known in his neighbourhood '' The Beau Brummell of the Buildings " . Not for him the hidden love , the unspoken affection , the unrequited passion . He has always kept pretty Rosie in his sights . ( Not that his eye doesn't wander , and the '' one man one girl '' path is a difficult route ) . But come St . Valentine's and like the good , true suitor he is he makes straight for Rosie , Erring slightly on the way .- but nevertheless he reaches his objective , with flowers firmly grasped in one grubby hand .

Picture shows - Brave Johnny ( The Beau Brummell of the building) holds behind his back a bunch of flowers for his valentine, pretty Rosie .
