A photographer captured the incredible moment a seal photo-bombed a shot of the Milky Way.

Photographer Stephen Ippolito, 45, regularly takes photos of the Milky Way, and was pleasantly surprised to see a seal photo-bombing his perfect shot.

Stephen was setting up his camera, whilst waiting for friends to arrive, when he saw something moving on the sand.

To his surprise it was a seal, basking on the sand. The seal began to waddle closer to Stephen and he decide to capture the perfect moment.

LEOPARD SPOTTED IN LONDON - Nat Geo 'WILD' unleashed the first ever realistic animatronic leopard, which was spotted roaming the streets of London in the early hours of this morning. The leopard has been created to mark the start of Big Cat Week and raise awareness about serious threats to the habitats of big cats, and their dwindling numbers. Leopards are faced with up to 90% habitat loss, finding themselves roaming urban streets in places like Mumbai. The animatronic has been created by John Nolan Studio, the team behind animatronics for Harry Potter, 'Spy in the Wild' and many more. Big Cat Week airs on Nat Geo 'WILD' from 6-12 March with U.K. premiere episodes each night at 8pm.

Meet Vivian - the gigantic dachshund on a mission to teach kids how to deal with moving house.

Mitch Boyer began creating larger-than-life photos of his pet Vivian in 2014 - as a joke. The dachshund's big personality means she thinks she's a far bigger dog than she actually is, according to her owner.

Animals created from trash, Lisbon, Portugal
A Portuguese artist has created an incredible variety of animals from end-of-life materials in an effort to stress the need for sustainability.

Bordalo II was born in Lisbon, 1987. The artist sees his generation as extremely consumerist, materialist and greedy, but aims to change these attitudes by depicting nature out of materials responsible for its destruction.

Tsukimi created doll figures of her whole family ready for a marriage
Doll town, Nagoro, Japan - 30 Mar 2015
    FULL WORDS: http://www.rexfeatures.com/nanolink/si1b

A Japanese village has been replacing humans with life-sized dolls after death.

The doll population in Nagoro, Shikoku Island, now hugely outnumbers people in this isolated mountain village. A 67-year-old woman, Tsukimi Ayano, has spent years weaving more than 350 of these dolls to remember her once-flourishing community.

The lifeless figures now dwarf the 30 or so residents left in the village.

Snapper Almost Snapped By Caiman Trapped In Pool
A photographer was almost snapped himself when a caiman nearly sank its teeth into his leg.

Wildlife guide and photographer Paul Goldstein rushed to assist when the 10ft reptile got stuck in a pool at Pousada Araras Lodge in Pantanal, Brazil.

Wimbledon-based Paul explains: "I was alerted by one of my tour clients after breakfast that an adult caiman was at the bottom of the pool.

"The creature had got himself stuck and local guide Juan and Ingrid Girahn from the lodge did their best to help free it from its chlorine-based incarceration.

"It proved very hard and also dangerous as a bite from this ten foot close relative of the crocodile would be more than a little graze.

"This is a heavy animal so once I realised it was a struggle I got involved but it twisted out of our grasp.

"It was not until I saw the photos that I realised it was that close to biting me.

"Eventually it was freed and skulked down to a nearby shrunken pool to go fishing, it seemed the caiman was unimpressed by the whole ordeal."
