Protest Against The Closure Of The RN126 For The A69 Works In Verfeil
A policewoman observes the traffic on the RD20 in Verfeil, France, on July 11, 2025. Neighbors, parents, and opponents of the planned A69 highway gather in Verfeil on the RD20 to protest against the closure of the RN126 for 6 to 9 months due to the A69 highway construction. The RN126 is closed, and traffic is diverted onto the RD20, which is in front of a future school and is a very narrow road where it is dangerous for heavy trucks to pass each other. The RN126 is already cut off, and traffic is diverted onto the RD20, but two accidents occur within a week. Parents fear their children or passersby could be injured or killed. Protesters place black figures along the road to raise awareness about the dangers on the narrow RD20. (Photo by Alain Pitton/NurPhoto) -

NEWS - Frankreich: Patrouillen der Polizei nach Pferdeverstümmelungen
Gendarmes meet horse owners to discuss and reassure them about the actions set following various mutilations on horses in recent weeks across France. At night, Surveillance and Intervention Platoon of the Gendarmerie units (PSIG) carry out patrols in venues where horses could be in danger. More than 30 attacks have now been reported across the country. Police have not been able to identify a singular motivation behind the attacks, with some suggesting they could be linked to satanic rituals, some kind of internet challenge, “trophy hunting”, an act of “animal haters”, or even “copycat killings”. Investigators have said that the attacks are likely to be the work of more than one perpetrator, as they are too widespread for them to be done by one individual or team. Similarly, the types of injuries suggest that the attackers have some kind of knowledge of anatomy or veterinary skills. Southwestern, France, October 7, 2020.
