Picture MUST credit: Float Buddy
A new device designed to help rescue mobile phones dropped into water has hit the market.
The Float Buddy attaches securely to the phone with a sticky pad.
If the user is out in a boat or fishing from shore and accidentally drops their device in the water, an inflatable bright orange grab handle pops up.
The user can then grab it to rescue their phone.
The $60 USD / €50 euros Float Buddy has a water activated trigger.
Like a car airbag, it is a single use device only..
A spokesperson said: “Float Buddy is an inflatable life vest for your phone!
“It can be attached via a mounting disc that is included.
“The Float Buddy will stay secured and can easily be removed if you are no longer around water.”
OPS: The Float Buddy inflates when it hits the water.

Exclusive - Preservation project to lift wall to save Banksy rat painting from destruction, London, UK - 2019
Aerial construction specialists and demolition experts use a huge crane to carefully lift intact, a twenty five ton, two-story wall, to preserve a famous Banksy rat image which has been covered up for years. Teams from specialist companies have spent over six weeks cutting around the artwork and fitting custom made eight ton steel supports to enable them to save the historic piece of art. Work has started on the construction of a new twenty seven floor hotel on the site of the old Foundry building in Shoreditch, east London, and a condition of the planning permission was to preserve the historical Banksy graffiti. A second section of the painting, an image of a TV being thrown through a broken window has already been cut out and moved separately. After the hotel construction is complete the two parts of the Banksy painting will be displayed on the hotel. Our pictures show the stages of work to protect the image, culminating in the lifting of the three story wall by crane.

Melting Arctic ice could be restored by a giant machine to extend the winter season and prolong migration for wildlife such as polar bears. The futuristic Arctic Saver Tower would be activated each April, when glacier ice beings to melt.It actively freezes sea water in different locations. The outer frame of the tower is filled with sea water from a collection unit under the ocean surfaceThe water freezes when the outer frame is raised up and exposed to cold air. When the water is frozen, the outer frame returns to sea level. The stored ice then melts by absorbing the heat in the atmosphere and slowing the temperature rise, delaying the April thaw.In the meantime, external units would be move to a fixed position, providing a foothold for a small number of polar bears that migrate during May and June each year.In September, a sprinkler installed on the outer frame of the Arctic Saver Tower sprays treated seawater onto the ice.By controlling the spraying direction and distance, the ice would be thickened.

OPS:Rendering of the Arctic Saver Tower. The huge arc standing out of the water contains sea water which is frozen by the cold air. It then lowers back into the water and slowly melts, absorbing heat. As it does so, the other half of the frame is raised up to begin the cycle again.
