    A victory which took the Scots a stage nearer to a place in the World Cup series at Rio de Janeiro next summer was secured when the Scotland team beat Wales by two goals to nil in an international soccer match at Hampton Park, Glasgow.

    Ernie Butler, Portsmouth goalkeeper, makes a despairing dive but the ball flashes into the net from the foot of Manchester United winger mitten to score the 1st goal for United in the F.A.cup-tie replay at Fratton Park, Portsmouth.

    More than 50,000 pairs of eyes watching the ball rocket into the net from a shop by Downey, inside left, he scored the second goal for Manchester United against Portsmouth at Fratton Park, Portsmouth, today.
