Charlie Gilmour
Charlie Gilmour photographed at Girton College, Cambridge. The son of Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour was forced to issue an apology for attacking the Cenotaph during the student riots in London. Charlie Gilmour, 21, said he was ashamed after being caught on camera swinging from a Union Jack on the memorial to BritainÕs war dead. The Cambridge history student was photographed urging the mob to charge police lines at Parliament Square. GilmourÕs actions will be distressing to his father Dave Gilmour who has an £85million fortune thanks to classic Pink Floyd albums like Dark Side of the Moon and hits such as Another Brick in the Wall with lyrics which now seem ironic such as "We don't need no education.".

Germany: Economy Shrinks More Than Expected In Second Quarter
August 22, 2025, Berlin, Berlin, Germany: Fresh data showed Germany's economy shrinking more than expected in the second quarter. Analysts pointed to weak industrial output, sliding investment in construction and machinery, and sluggish export demand as key factors. The downturn comes as higher U.S. tariffs on European goods weigh heavily on Germany's export-driven industries. (Credit Image: © Michael Kuenne/PRESSCOV via ZUMA Press Wire (FOTO: DUKAS/ZUMA)

Nearly 300 PCS members employed by outsourcing companies G4S and ISS as security, cleaners, porters, receptionists and post room staff continue ongoing strike action.
The strike action is part of our ongoing dispute with the outsourced facilities management companies over their failure to improve pay, terms and conditions for the members, who are employed on far less favourable terms than civil service colleagues working in the same buildings.
