    Lip Smackingly Good Art
Artist Paige Thompson looks foxy as she puckers up to paint these amazing animal designs - on her own lips.

The 21-year-old uses old Halloween make-up to paint colourful and cute animals on her mouth before photographing them.

Her unique take on face-painting has attracted thousands of fans to her website who make regular requests for new animals.

She takes half an hour to paint each 'Animal-ipstick' in front of a mirror - making up the design as she goes.

Paige starts off with a base colour and adds details, such as stripes, eyes and ears.

So far, she has created a bumblebee, black cat, fox, crab, caterpillar, hippo, chameleon and panda.

The college student uses water-based paint from her childhood and sticks to a basic pallette of red, blue, yellow, green, black and white.

She then uses a variety of small paintbrushes in order to create the detail.

Paige, from Texas, United States, was inspired to try her own lipstick art after admiring the face-painting of other artists.

She said: "I had virtually nothing to do around the house, so I tried my luck with some old Halloween face paint that we had used since I was a kid.

"My first animal-lipstick, the bumblebee, wasn't even formed as an idea until I painted my lips yellow and added some random black stripes.

"It was then apparent that a face was needed.

"I thought the result was cute, and I made a few more. I never imagined that so many people would love these photos.

"I chose to do animals because I had already done the bumblebee, so I thought I could expand upon the animal kingdom.

"After all, there are so many animals, I don't think I'll ever run out of ideas.

"My personal favourites are the bumblebee and the fox since those were two of my first, and most adorable, Anima...

Vegetable Gardens At Nowa Huta Prison In Krakow
In Krakow, Poland, on August 27, 2025, a vegetable garden in the women's ward is tended by inmates at the Nowa Huta Prison. Thanks to a partnership between Krakow's Municipal Greenery Authority and the Krakow Remand Prison, inmates cultivate vegetable gardens on prison grounds as part of an urban gardening program. The garden has been running for three years in the women's ward, and since last year also in the men's ward, where since 2025 vegetables grow alongside flowers. In addition to gardening, inmates also take part in other projects such as building hedgehog houses and insect hotels. The initiative is designed to teach responsibility and care, while also providing meaningful ways to spend time. Participation is voluntary, and all harvests belong to those who work in the gardens.
