Big Ben Coronation projections at The Palace of Westminster, London, UK.
3rd May 2023
Big Ben will come alive tomorrow [Thursday 4th May 2023] with a spectacular projection to mark the Coronation of Their Majesties The King and Queen Consort.
Inspired by the Coronation emblem, the national flowers of all four home nations will grow around Elizabeth Tower in the colours of the Union Flag - red, white and blue before the words of the National anthem God Save The King appear across the iconic tower.
The projection culminates with the Coronation emblem, designed by Sir Jony Ive.
It will be one of the iconic images leading up to the Coronation weekend.
Projections will take place every night from Thursday 4th May to Sunday 7th May from sunset [which is approximately 20:30] to 2300.
Big Ben is the nickname for the Great Bell of the Great Clock of Westminster at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London, England and the name is frequently extended to refer also to the clock and the clock tower. The official name of the tower in which Big Ben is located was originally the Clock Tower, but it was renamed Elizabeth Tower in 2012 to mark the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II.
