Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown explained her decision take on internet trolls over her glamorous new blonde look which critics said aged her.
The former child star, now 21, who first appeared in the TV sci-fi series aged 12 as central character Eleven, has become a glittering star on the red carpet in the current Hollywood awards season.
And that brought out nasty comments on social media from people comparing her appearance now to her previous dowdy screen look as a teen.
She answered them in a social media post declaring: “I refuse to make myself smaller to fit the unrealistic expectations of people who can’t handle seeing a girl become a woman.
“I will not be shamed for how I look, how I dress, or how I present myself.
“Let’s do better. Not just for me, but for every young girl who deserves to grow up without fear of being torn apart for simply existing.”
She spoke about the issue when she appeared on the Jimmy Fallon talk show in the USA to promote new Netflix streaming movie Electric State
