Osprey comes under attack from Mallard, Rothimurchus Estate, Scotland - 23 Jul 2014

Duck! There's An Angry Bird About
This osprey was minding its own business when it suddenly came under attack from an enraged duck on a lake in Scotland.
The bird of prey had been patiently fishing, diving time and time again to snag something for its dinner, and it struck lucky when it managed to snag a large trout.
However, a plucky duck appeared to take offence at the osprey's presence on its stretch of water.
Just as it was no doubt celebrating it successful catch, and preparing to fly off with its prize, the osprey came under attack from the angry Mallard, which made its displeasure known using its beak and wings.
However, luckily for the osprey it kept its eyes on the prize and wasn't distracted - calmly flying off with the fish gripped in its talons.

Mallard duck gives birth to huge brood of 24 ducklings, Hazelbury, Dorset, Britain - 17 Apr 2013
Mandatory Credit: Photo by Mike Walker / Rex Features (2304101h)
Record Breaking Mallard Gives Birth To 24 Ducklings
This mallard duck could be in line for a place in the record books after producing a monster brood of 24 ducklings at the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust in Arundel, West Sussex.
The doting mum laid her eggs at the beginning of March in sub zero temperatures, but despite the odds against her she managed to hatch them all.
Now the harried parent certainly has a lot on her hands as she struggles to juggle her huge brood and keep an eye on them all when they go for a swim.
Fitting all of her offspring under her wing for a snuggle is also something of a problem, with one forced to sit on her back instead!
