World's Oldest Barmaid Not Calling Time Yet
A 97-year-old British woman has become the oldest barmaid in the world.
Dolly Saville still works at The Red Lion Hotel in Wendover, Buckinghamshire, where she has been for an incredible 71 years.
The pensioner started working at the bar in 1940 when she was just 26.
Today, she puts work shy youngsters to shame by continuing to do the physically demanding job despite being nearly 100.
Over the last seven decades she has served scores of famous faces including actor Pierce Brosnan, former Prime Minister Ted Heath, footballer Stanley Matthews and wartime singer Vera Lynn.
Until three years ago - up until she was 94 - Dolly was still working at least six hours a day, six days a week.
During the last 70 years she has pulled and poured a staggering two million pints and has had a total of just two weeks sick leave.
Dolly has now reduced her hours to three shifts a week but plans to continue in the bar, which has been named Dolly's in her honour, until she is at least 100.
"I love my job and really like meeting new people and talking to them, it's far better than just sitting around," she said.
"I work for three hours at a time and am constantly on my feet, but I don't mind.
"I'm very happy here and plan to continue working until they carry me out."
Dolly, who moved to Wendover at the age of three, left school at 14 and went into service as a house maid.
She married in her late teens and her daughter Anne was born soon after, followed by her son Roland.
When war broke out several years later, her husband joined the RAF and Dolly had to get a job to support the family.
She had never done bar work before but was offered a job in the hotel by the landlord who spotted her walking past one day with her children.
"The landlord asked if I w...

For forty-five years they lay in an attic, but now these stunning images of Jimi Hendrix in his pomp can be revealed in full for the first time.
Miki Slingsby was just a fresh-faced 20-year-old photojournalism student at the Regent Street Polytechnic when he found himself both front of stage and in the dressing room for the Purple Haze singer's 8 October 1967 show at London's Saville Theatre.
The unveiling of the full set of photographs comes in the week a controversial Hendrix biopic is released (All Is By My Side opens in UK Friday 8 Aug).
The film stars Andre 3000, of Outkast fame, as Hendrix and is written and directed by John Ridley, who won a 2014 Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for 12 Years a Slave.
