Meet Vivian - the gigantic dachshund on a mission to teach kids how to deal with moving house.
Mitch Boyer began creating larger-than-life photos of his pet Vivian in 2014 - as a joke. The dachshund's big personality means she thinks she's a far bigger dog than she actually is, according to her owner.

An amazing new scanning technique allows expectant mothers to hold a life-size model of their unborn child.
The technology sees data from ultrasound, CT and MRI scans converted into 3-D models which can then be 'printed' as a plastic representation of the developing baby.
Jorge Lopes, a Brazilian designer, developed the ground-breaking technique for his PhD at London's Royal College of Art.
Some applications for the method, called rapid prototyping, could be to allow blind mothers to bond with their babies or aid case management of foetal malformation.
Dr Lopes' new way of combining all the various scanning techniques has excited medical experts, including Heron Werner MD, who said: "I don't know whether I am looking at science or I am looking at art".
One stunning example of the technique is a realistic skeletal depiction of conjoined twins in the womb, their positioning making them look as of they are hugging.

FROM CAMPUS TO COMBAT - THE FEMALE MARINES
On 13th August 1918 a young woman named Opha Mae Johnson made history when she became the first woman to enlist in the United States Marine Corps.
Given the category of "F" (for female) she was not allowed to go to war but would have worked as a secretary, cook or military nurse or any other job that the first marine women were allowed to do.
It would be another 20 years before women were actually allowed to serve in a war zone.
In February 1943 The Marine Corps Women's Reserve was established; the United States Congress then passed the Women's Armed Services Integration Act on 12th June 1948, which made women a permanent part of the regular Marine Corps.
In 1950 the Women Reserves were mobilized for the Korean War and 2,787 served their country. By the height of the Vietnam War there were about 2,700 women marines serving both stateside and abroad.
The 1990s saw additional changes and increased responsibilities for women in the Marine Corps, including flying combat aircraft. Approximately 1,000 women marines were deployed to Southwest Asia for Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm in 1990-1991.
In 1997 women marines began attending Marine Combat Training, allowing them the same combat training opportunities as men. And these women now undergo a tough training regime at Parris Island Marine Base in South Carolina.
Today, women in the American military are still not allowed in front-line ground combat. But they work in supporting roles, from manning vehicles to flying combat planes - jobs that put them in dangerous situations, especially in Iraq. Since the U.S led invasion of Iraq in 2003, more than 3,000 American military p...

SPEARFISHING AT SUNRISE IN A NATIVE CANU, XINGU INDIAN RESERVATION, BRAZIL
The first rays of the sun provide light for shooting arrows at the sting-rays. This edible fish carries an electrical charge and hides from the Xingu Indians on the bed of the crystal-clear river. The young boys help their father to steer the canoe and learn to be the hunters of tomorrow.

YOUNG BOYS FISHING WITH BOW AND ARROW OUT OF A NATIVE CANU, XINGU INDIAN RESERVATION, BRAZIL
In a forest camp near the river, the Mehinaku, tribal neighbours of the Yawalapiti, equip themselves for a collective fishing expedition with the help of the poisonous timbo tendrils. They are cut down from the trees and tied up in arm-length bundles. In a dammed branch of the river the men beat the foaming sap from them. The paralysed fish are soon floating belly-up on the surface, where the boys kill them with bow and arrow - good shooting-practice for the young generation. (FOTO: DUKAS/MICHAEL FRIEDEL)

SPEARFISHING AT SUNRISE IN A NATIVE CANU, XINGU INDIAN RESERVATION, BRAZIL
Early morning is the best time to spear fish on the Rio Tuatuari. Jakao, the Yawalapiti¹s most successful fish-hunter, uses a lance nearly 20 ft long. His little son Wahu watches unceasingly for the silvery flash of a fish¹s body. Wairipia, who is paddling the canoe, has to manoeuvre it silently up to their prey. This is how the river-Indians catch their favourite delicacy: the sting-ray. (FOTO: DUKAS/MICHAEL FRIEDEL)

Dry Ski School
Each year more and more Britons are escaping from the damp greyness of their island to the exhilarating snowiness of winter at it's best in the skiing countries of Europe . And each winter more and more of them are going to the Dry Ski School run by Lillywhites Sport Store in the West End of London to get some of the year's stiffness out of their joints and accustom themselves in advance to the strains and twists of sport . This is the sixth season of the indoor course , presided over by Anni Maurer , a former Swiss ski champion , who recently appeared on English television . She specially designed the short , curved skis which are used in her classes . Sometimes , in the ' season ' which runs from November to the end of February , she has as many as five half - hour classes ( from 12-18 pupils in a class ) in one evening . Her clients , as our pictures show , are both sexes and all ages , ranging from slim 18-year old typists to paunchy , determined 60-year-old business men and grey - haired , gallant housewives . When they reach the slopes they will certainly have got over the preliminary muscular agonies and can spend their holiday weeks in improving , or establishing their technique .
PICTURE SHOWS: Anni shows a hefty client in eccentric clothes how to swing the outside arm when cornering on skis .
