Old customs, traditional costumes, and folk dances are the rule at a village wedding in Spain. these pictures show a typical country wedding in Navalcarnero, in the Province of Madrid, where bride and groom and all those taking part wear the colourful costumes of old Spain, and all the country folk crowd into the village square to watch the old folk dances, or to take part in the gaiety themselves.
Photo Shows: A handsome Spanish girl dancer, arrayed in a beatifully embroidered shawl, hair braided beads and bells, ready to take part in the traditional dancing in the village square.

HAREWOOD AT DUNCAN-BRITTEN FIRST NIGHT RECEPTION
The Earl and Countess of Harewood and Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Stein, parents of the Countess, were guests at a reception in the Royal Albion Hotel, Brighton, Sussex, which followed the world's premier tonight in Brighton's Theatre Royal of the new play ' Stratton'.
The party had attended the performance of the play, written by Ronald Duncan with music by Benjamin Britten. Both Duncan and Britain are friends of the Earl and Countess and jointly wrote the anthem ' Amo Ergo Sum ' which was sung at their wedding.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art hosted it's annual Costume Institute Gala on 5th May 2008 with Honorary Chair Giorgio Armani and Co-Chairs George Clooney, Julia Roberts and Anna Wintour. This year's theme is 'Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy', exploring the symbolic and metaphorical associations between fictional characters and fashion in an exhibition at the Museum from May 7 through September 1 2008. The exhibition features approximately 60 ensembles including movie costumes, avant-garde haute couture, and high-performance sportswear to reveal how the superhero serves as the ultimate metaphor for fashion and its ability to empower and transform the human body. Last night at the Saatchi Gallery saw a vast array of stars from the worlds of fashion and entertainment turn up at the Saatchi Gallery on Chelsea's King's Road. They were all invited to a dinner thrown by Vogue UK editor Alexandra Shulman to honour Frida Giannini, the creative director for fashion label Gucci. The day before (Tues 31 Mar), Frida had been present at the official re-launch of the stunning newly refurbished flagship Gucci store on Knightsbridge's Sloane Street. This time however, she was the one being celebrated and there were plenty of celebrity guests around to help. After dinner the guests were treated to an acoustic performance by Richard Ashcroft.

TRAGIC MARILYN'S FINAL POSSESSIONS UP FOR SALE
A rare sale of Marilyn Monroe's personal possessions will feature a robe purported to be the last item of clothing she wore.
The assembled items include clothing from her personal and professional wardrobe and furniture from her Brentwood, California hacienda style home.
The items offer a rare glimpse into the personal life of the tragic legend who resided in the Brentwood home until her death.
Among over 150 items offered for sale is a white terry cloth robe ($8,000 - 10,000) claimed to be the last item of clothing Monroe wore before her death.
This is also an umbrella Monroe held for an iconic photograph taken by Andre de Dienes in 1949 at Tobey Beach.
Other highlights from Marilyn's Brentwood home include; an orange Pucci blouse ($7,000-9,000), Monroe's dining room table (est. $10,000/12,000), living room coffee table (est. $8,000/10,000), Mexican tile table (est. $500/1,000), set of four living room folding benches (est. $5,000/7,000), Mexican framed mirror (est. $3,000/5,000), and other fine & decorative art pieces.
After Marilyn's death in 1962, her home at 12305 Fifth Helena, Brentwood, CA was purchased via auction by Dr. Gilbert Nunez. On August 5, 1962, Betty Nunez went to the realtor's office to register to view the property. By March of 1963, the Nunez's had thought Marilyn Monroe they had ownership, but a half dozen other realtors had also sold the house and the estate was still in probate.
A judge decided that the price of the house would be 10% over the price of the highest bidder. The Nunez's won but they ended up paying 5 times what the house was worth. They moved in during the month of September in 1963 and were given the opportunity to purchase any o...
