The magnificent church of Abreha wa Atsebha is located 15 km. West of Wuqro. The church is one of the best and largest churches in addition to one of the oldest in the region of Tigray, dedicated to the famous kings of Axum and the brothers Abreha and Atsebha. The church is situated on the rock of a red color with a view to the valley and its facade painted white with its two blue doors at the height under the arches. The church is decorated with century paintings depicting biblical scenes.

May 9, 2015 - Venice, Italy: Hundred years ago, on 1915 the Armenian population suffered for a big genocide also known as the Armenian holocaust by the Ottoman Empire army. It is supposed that One and half million Armenian were killed and over a million deported. Many escaped from their country and a community took place in the Venetian small island of Saint Lazzaro, now also known as the Isola degli Armeni. In occasion of the 2015 Venice Art Biennale and to remember the anniversary of the genocide the Armenian community of the Monastery organize a selection of Armenian artists exhibition called Armenity.
