SPENCER TUNICK LAID BARE IN SYDNEY
He is famous for creating photos featuring scores of naked people, but recently it was artist Spencer Tunick who found himself woefully short of clothes.
Arriving in Australia the famed New York-based photographer revealed that the airline he travelled on had lost his luggage.
"I am truly the emperor with no clothes," he commented at a press conference. "I am so depressed."
Tunick is in Sydney ahead of shooting an installation he has planned at the Sydney Opera House next week.
However, he is now concerned that his camera equipment won't turn up in time for the shoot.
The event will feature more than 2,000 people posing nude outside of Sydney's most iconic building, as well as inside the Concert Hall and in the Botanic Gardens.
Speaking about his idea for the installation Tunick commented: "It will be phenomenal it will look like an ancient Greek court, it's quite an alarming site, just the feeling of filling up that concert hall with naked people, just to be there at the moment."
Tunick says he hopes to send a message through his work, which has been commissioned by the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.
"I want to shout out and spread the word of equality for the gay community," he said.
As a taster of what is to come, Tunick's press call took place at Sydney restaurant Toko and featured two naked models with strategically placed sushi laid on their bodies.
