Firefighters use digger to help lift horse that can't stand, Chingford, London, Britain - 30 May 2015
When 32-year-old horse Feller fell to the ground after injuring its leg owners Karen and Peter Jaggs feared the worse. With Feller unable to stand and sprawled in a field, someone at Barnfield Riding Stables in Chingford remembered seeing a reality televison programme where fire crews were called to lift a stricken horse. So they called for assistance and two fire teams - a specialist rescue crew and a speciaist large animal crew - were sent. Firefighters managed to requisition a JCB digger and used fire service heavy animal lifting equipment to slowly raise Feller to his feet. Looking on anxiously, Karen and Peter held their breath as the horse was examined by a vet, but, thankfully, Feller soon found his feet and ran off.
