Gary Glitter Released From Prison
GARY GLITTER RELEASED FROM PRISON
Nearly 3 years after being convicted and imprisoned in Vietnam on charges of sexually abusing two girls, former glam pop star Gary Glitter, 64, real name Paul Gadd, has been released from prison and deported from the SE Asian country.
From the jail he was taken straight to the airport where he boarded a plane to the United Kingdom via Bangkok, Thailand.
However, on arrival in Thailand he complained of chest pains and claimed to be suffering a heart attack and was unable to take his connecting flight back to the UK.
Nevertheless, Thai authorities refused him any permission to enter the country to seek medical treatment, labelling him a 'persona non grata', and Thai police maintain that they will be deporting him as soon as possible to his home country.
If and when he returns to the UK he will be met at the airport by police and forced to sign the sex offenders register, after which he will be monitored closely by authorities and restricted in his travels abroad, his proximity to children and his use of the internet.
Home Secretary Jacqui Smith suggested that he should be given a Foreign Travel Order (FTO), prohibiting him from leaving the country at all, as well as using the opportunity to announce government plans to tighten restrictions on the movements of paedophiles.
"I think these are sensible and proportional ways of toughening up what is already a very tough system. I think that's what we owe to children in this country and to children abroad," Ms Smith said.
Glitter is currently staying in a Bangkok airport hotel still seeking access to Thailand or another Asian country.

British Hacker Gary McKinnon
Gary McKinnon due to be extradited to the US if he looses his case in the European Court of Human Rights. McKinnon, also known as SOLO, is a Scottish hacker facing extradition to the United States to face charges of perpetrating what has been described by one prosecutor as the "biggest military computer hack of all time." Following legal hearings in the UK it was decided in July 2006 that he should be extradited to the US. In February 2007 his lawyers argued against the ruling in an appeal to the High Court in London, which was turned down on April 3. On July 30, 2007 the House of Lords agreed to hear the appeal and on June 17, 2008 the Law Lords began hearing the case. This Judgment was delivered on July 30, 2008 with the Law Lords judging that Gary McKinnon could be extradited to the United States. He was given two weeks to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights before extradition, but the Court halted the extradition for an additional two weeks to allow time to hear his appeal on August 28, which was subsequently rejected. His legal team subsequently decided to lodge another appeal, which was granted, based on the fact that McKinnon has recently been diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome. His diagnosis was made in August 2008 by the eminent psychologist Prof Simon Baron-Cohen.

Following legal hearings in the UK it was decided in July 2006 that he should be extradited to the US.

MATCHING OUTFITS (4) - 2008
Fashion forward starlets know that wearing the same outfit as someone else is an occupational hazard. And it doesn't matter who wore it first, it's all about who wore it best. All that celebs can do is grit their teeth, put their best foot forward, and hope that they come out victorious.
With their long limbs and blonde hair Ashlee Simpson and A.J. Michalka look anything but grey in their ruffletastic minidresses, complete with black nails and peep toe shoes Celine Dion has a hard metal moment on stage in this embellished and studded strapless number, showing that she's still got it at 40; meanwhile, in the same dress it's amazing that a painfully thin Diane Kruger has enough flesh to keep it up.
Looking like she's wearing a sack, this grey jersey dress does absolutely nothing for Kelly Preston's figure and the tights/shoes combo is too ugly to even comment on. Sophia Bush, on the other hand, looks sophistication personified with her matchy matchy accessories and elegant updo.
The impossible to tell them apart Kristin Cavallari and Tara Conner both look bloomin lovely in their black, white and yellow floral print, but why they both chose the same hideous orthopaedic sandals is anyone's business.
Martha Higareda looks berry nice in her quality street wrapper inspired Dolce & Gabbana with pared back accessories, but an awkward looking Anne Hathaway fails to smoulder - maybe she should have worn Prada.
Both Rhianna and Geri Halliwell discover that Herve Leger isn't called the king of cling for nothing by having to suck it all in to don this bandage dress; however, the effort is well worth it with both stars looking edible in sorbet colours.
Nia Long looks like a real lady in red in a gorgeous Marc Jacobs dress that f...
