Sports and leisurewear maker Nike is launching a new type of shoe designed to help athletes get into the right mindset pre- and post-competition.
There are two models , the Mind 001 and Mind 002.
They are described by the US giant as “neuroscience-based footwear” and the idea is that they boost focus by activating sensory receptors in the feet.
To do this the shoes feature 22 foam nodes on the soles of each one.
The nodes are bonded to a flexible, water-resistant material that allows them to act as pistons and gimbals as athletes move to give the feeling and texture of the ground directly beneath.
