A flock of 500 geese take their daily morning walk from their barn through the village of Croxton Kerrial, near Grantham.

The geese spend their day grazing in a field over-looked by the village church in Lincolnshire, before waddling back to their warm barn at Botterill & Sons Freerange Birds at dusk.

You'll need to be quick if you want to have a gander at these feathery commuters, as the six-month-old birds will all take their last stroll through the village next week as demand for goose on the Christmas dinner table continues to rise year-on-year.

The farm has a total of 1500 geese and also supplies turkeys, duck and chicken for Christmas.

The geese have walked through the village for 25 years. The local pub has just been renamed the Geese & Fountain and has a sign that depicts the scene.

When the remains of the famous explorer Capt Matthew Flinders - credited with naming Australia - were discovered during the digging for HS2, Jane Pearson knew he had to be brought back home to Donington.

This little village in Lincolnshire, where Flinders was born in 1774, has been preparing for his arrival for months, and is gearing up to welcome a host of Australian dignitaries travelling over for his reburial in July.
